Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at Delhi, and after clearing immigration and customs, Grand Travel Planner’s representative will be there to welcome you and take you to your designated hotel for check-in and overnight stay.
Delhi is a vibrant city that has been built, destroyed, and recreated numerous times by various dynasties and rulers over the years. It has been a symbol of pride and glory for many and this is the city where past and present coexist in harmony, something which is amazing to witness for every tourist and traveler. It showcases different cultures together with traditional beliefs and modern interventions that have been absorbed in the city’s everyday way of life, making this city a worthwhile and charming holiday experience.
Day 02 - Delhi Exploration
In the morning, after breakfast, you will be embarking on a sightseeing tour of New Delhi. You would be visiting Qutub Minar, a 72 meters high minaret and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Iron Pillar, a 1500 years old structure which is famous amongst architecture and researchers for its non-corrosive material composition; and Humayun’s Tomb, a burial place for Mughal Emperor, Humayun. The drive will continue through Embassy area, the Government buildings (1921-1930.) and then you would be visiting Old Delhi, an ancient walled part of the capital city. In Old Delhi, you will be visiting Red Fort, Raj Ghat, and Jama Masjid amongst other things. In addition, you will also get an opportunity to explore one of the most famous parts of Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk. It is full of life and multi-colored part of the Old Delhi, an old marketplace that you can enjoy and explore while having fun on a Rickshaw Ride.
Day 03 - Driving from Delhi to Jaipur (235 Km in 4-5 hrs)
Next morning, after breakfast, you would be leaving for Jaipur by car and on your arrival there, you would be taken to your designated hotel for check-in and relaxation time. Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan and it is widely known as the Pink City, because of the pink colored sandstone with which the buildings in its old, walled part of the city are erected. The town is situated in a desert-like setting, encircled by barren hills. Jaipur has been founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1699-1744). He was a great warrior and astronomer and had established this city with meticulous planning and research. The city is named after him. His ancestors had good relations with the Mughals, in 1727, Jai Singh decided to move his residence from hillside fortress at neighboring Amer to a new place on the plains. The city was designed based on Vastu and Shilpa Shastra. In the afternoon, you would be sightseeing in Jaipur City. You would visit Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds, a five-storied building made with pink sandstone, overlooking the city’s main streets and built for women of the royal family. Then you will proceed for a guided tour of the City Palace & Observatory, the main residence of the royal family. Next, you would be driving past Jantar Mantar and explore the colorful markets and business areas of Jaipur.
Day 04 - Jaipur Excursion
After a delicious breakfast, you would be leaving to visit Amer Fort, the former capital of the Rajputs. Maharaja Man Singh I instigated its construction in 1592 on the remnants of an 11th-century fort. Following rulers kept on adding to Amer Fort before the capital was moved to Jaipur in 1727. The fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site and its architecture is a remarkable union of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. It has a series of gardens, halls, and palaces. The fort’s most wonderful part is Diwan-e-Khas. You will also be able to enjoy an elephant ride at Amer Fort. In the evening, you will be free to explore the colorful Jaipur market and then you will return to the hotel for overnight stay .
Day 05 - Moving from Jaipur to Fatehpur Sikri to Agra by Road
In the morning, after breakfast, you will depart for Agra, and en-route, you would be visiting Fatehpur Sikri which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and after 15 years, it was abandoned due to the scarcity of water. There, you will get to see magnificent monuments like the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal and other stunning palaces. After some time, you will be back on road to Agra. Agra was the capital of India during the Mughal era in the 16th and 17th centuries. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, Agra has some very magnificent historical buildings. Late in the afternoon, you would be visiting Agra Fort. It was the chief residence of Mughal rulers until 1638. The fort has many remarkable structures such as the Jahangir Mahal, Moti Masjid, Khas Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am, and Machchhi Bhawan. Then you would visit Taj Mahal at Sunset, a symbol of eternal love. It was built by Shah Jahan in order to cherish the memory of his deceased wife, Mumtaz Mahal. You would stay in Agra for the night.
Day 06 - Agra
Early Morning, witness the magic of the ultimate symbol of Mughal achievement, The Taj Mahal at Sunrise. Taj Mahal, a dream etched in milky white pristine marble is the peerless monument portraying the beauty of eternal love! A commemoration of the memory of Shahjahan’s beloved wife, Mumtaz. Taj Mahal is indeed India’s rich tribute to womanhood. Renowned for its aesthetic beauty, this extravagant building of timeless beauty is the outcome of a unique combination of passion and architectural exuberance. After breakfast, visit Agra Fort – the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. This was the seat of Mughal rule and administration and the present structure owes its origins to Akbar who erected the wall s and gates and the first buildings on the eastern banks of Yamuna River. Shah Jehan added the impressive quarters and the mosque while Aurangzeb added the outer ramparts. Visit its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions. Evening free for Shopping .
Day 07 - From Agra to Jhansi-Orchha-Khajuraho by Shatabdi Express
In the morning, after breakfast, you would be transferred to railway station to catch the train for Jhansi. On your arrival there, you would be greeted by our representative who will transfer you to Khajuraho by road. On the way to Khajuraho, there would be a stoppage at Orchha. Orchha used to be a medieval city with striking palaces, temples and monuments dating back to the Bundela Dynasty. Now it’s just a village, but an old fort is still a place of tourist attraction and Orchha also contains a few palaces. Then you will back on the road to Khajuraho .
Day 08 - From Khajuraho to Varanasi by air
In the morning after breakfast, you would be sightseeing Khajuraho. It is renowned for its ancient temples that represent some of the finest artwork in the world. The Khajuraho temples belong to the Hindu and Jain religion. You would be spending a half day visiting the western group of temples such as Chaunset Yogini temple which is dedicated to Goddess Kali and the Kandariya Mahadev Temple, which is 31 meters high and has a remarkable variety of sculptures together with erotic themes. The Chitragupta temple is devoted to God Surya. There are also some other temples like Vishwanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple and the Visha Temple, devoted to Lord Shiva, and more. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport to board the flight for Varanasi. Arriving at Varanasi, you would be transferred to your hotel. Varanasi is a holy city for Hindus and in the evening, you would be taken to Ghats for sightseeing and Aarti Ceremony .
Day 09 - Varanasi Excursion
In the morning, you would be taken for the Boat Ride at the Ganges to see the sunrise. You will also get a chance to see the Ghats and other similar sites. People do bathing and worshipping at the Ghats and watching those people is one of the most astonishing experiences in Varanasi. You will return to the hotel for breakfast and then leave for a half-day sightseeing tour of the city where you will get to visit Bharat Mata Temple, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University which has a wonderful Art Gallery, and the Mosque made by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Afterward, you will be taken to Sarnath for sightseeing .
Day 10 - Varanasi to Kathmandu by air
Next day, after breakfast, you would be transferred to the airport to board the flight for Kathmandu. Kathmandu is a unique and captivating capital of Nepal. It is a deeply spiritual land and I located in the Himalayas. In the afternoon, you would be having half day excursion to Patan to see Old Newar city and Tibetan Handicraft .
Day 11 - Kathmandu Sightseeing
In the morning, after breakfast, you would be taken for sightseeing tour visiting the Hanuman Dhoka with the ancient residential quarters and temples, located in the Durbar Square of central Kathmandu. Then, you would be visiting Swayambhunath, which is amongst the oldest religious places in Nepal. The place is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. In the afternoon, you would be visiting Bhadgaon. It is also a Newar city which was founded in the 9th century. Then you would be visiting Bodhnath, a 2500 years old Buddhist stupa, and Pashupatinath temple, located at the banks of Bagmati River .
Day 12 - From Kathmandu to Delhi by air By Flight
In the morning, you will have some leisure time and afterward, you would be transferred to the airport to board your flight to New Delhi. On your arrival there, you would be transferred to your hotel .
Day 13 - Departure from Delhi
n the final day, you would be free to do some shopping and the check-out time would be at 12 pm. Then, you would be transferred to International Airport to board your flight for onward journey. We hope that you will have a great time on this tour and come back for more.
