Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrive Delhi
On arrival at Delhi, after clearing immigration and customs, step into the receiving area where you will be met and assisted by Grand Travel Planner representative and transferred to the hotel for a Check-in. After Refreshment visit, Old Delhi: An ancient walled city. Here you will drive past the Red Fort, Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India ; and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colorful market of the old city.
Day 02 - Delhi- Jaisalmer

After breakfast, New Delhi: includes visits to such sights as Humayun’s Tomb (1586) and the Qutab Minar 72 meters high and one of the most perfect towers in the Persian world. The Iron Pillar which has survived the vagaries of weather for over 1500 years. Continue with a drive through Embassy area, the Government buildings (1921-1930) and other places of interest .

In the evening proceed to the station for train to Jaisalmer. Overnight will be on the train.


Day 03 - Jaisalmer

Arrive by noon. Reach Jaisalmer and check in at the hotel.

Rising from the heart of the Thar Desert like a golden mirage is the city of Jaisalmer. A commanding fort etched in yellow sandstone stands, with its awesome splendor, dominating the amber-hued city.

The city has an interesting legend associated with it, according to which, Lord Krishna-the head of the Yadav Clan, foretold Arjuna that a remote descendent ofthe Yadav Clan would build his kingdom atop the Trikuta Hill. His prophecy was fulfilled in 1156 AD when Rawal Jaisal, a descendent of the Yadav Clan and a Bhatti Rajput, abandoned his fort at Lodurva and founded a new capital -Jaisalmer, perched on the Trikuta Hill.

In the evening enjoy a dinner at the fort. Overnight will be at Jaisalmer.

Day 04 - Jaisalmer

After a relaxed breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of The Golden City – Jaisalmer. It is in the heart of the Great Indian Desert. Its temple, fort and palaces are all built of yellow stone. The city is a mass of intricately carved buildings, facades and elaborate balconies.

Visit the Jaisalmer Fort – The oldest living Fort in the world. (This is the highlight of the tour).

See the Patwon-Ki-Haveli, Salim-Singh-Ki-Haveli and Gandhi Sagar Tank. Also visit Barabagh Hill.

In the afternoon, proceed to the Sam Sand Dunes for visiting the typical Rajasthani Desert Village.

Ride your camel into the desert and view the sunset from the dunes, as the sky is set on fire. Reach the camp village for dinner amidst Rajasthani musicians playing haunting tunes.

Stay overnight at the camp.

Day 05 - Jaisalmer

Breakfast will be at the camp.

Start a short safari and then by afternoon reach your vehicle (waiting for you) and drive to Jaisalmer.

Relax at the hotel. Overnight will be in Jaisalmer.

Day 06 - Jaisalmer-Jodhpur By Road - 300-km/6 hr

Proceed for Jodhpur after breakfast.

Reach Jodhpur by late afternoon, as you will take a short excursion to visit the Osian Temples.

Set at the edge of the Thar Desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the desert. Once the capital of the Marwar state, it was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha-chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs who claimed to be descendants of Rama – the epic hero of the Ramayana. The massive 15th century AD Mehrangarh Fort looms on the top of a rocky hill, soaring 125 m above the plains. The city is encompassed by a high wall -10 km long with 8 gates and innumerable bastions.

Overnight will be at Jodhpur.

Day 07 - Jodhpur

Proceed for morning sightseeing tour of Jodhpur – gateway to the desert beyond, home of the Rathors of Marwar, Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, rising up a hilly scarp, built on the advice of a hermit, overlooking the city in the image of a long sentinel. Inside the Fort are a number of palaces added by successive rulers. In this palace you would see different miniature paintings & cradle room. After this you would visit Jaswant Thada Memorial.

Afternoon go for a village safari and have a rare glimpse into the rich culture and true essence of India. Abundant wildlife (game) and memorable moments of the great desert landscape fascinates one while driving along the countryside.

Relax in the evening or proceed for shopping. Overnight will be in Jodhpur

Day 08 - Jodhpur - Jaipur

After breakfast drive to Jaipur. Reach and check in at hotel.

Afternoon, visit Jaipur City: Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds, a five-storied structure of pink sandstone with semi-octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows overlooking the main street of the old city. It was built in 1799 so that veiled royal woman could peer down unseen by the world through its 593 stone screens. We proceed for a guided tour of the City Palace & Observatory. The City Palace in the heart of the old city is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The center of the palace is a seven storied building called Chandra Palace, with fine views over the gardens and the city. Next top the City Palace is the Solar Observatory – an astronomical treasure house, with solar device that gives accurate predictions till date.

Day 09 - Jaipur

After breakfast, visit Amber Fort: The former capital of the royal Rajputs. Few fail to be moved by the dramatic Rajput grandeur of this hilltop fortress-palace 11-km north of Jaipur.Set on the dry wrinkled Aravali Hills, and surrounded by fortified battlements, the palace straddles two sepia-hued tundra hills overlooking Maota Lake, and its sprawling crenellated walls lattice the surrounding hills.

We will ride up to this hilltop palace on a caparisoned, painted elephant, passing through the ancient main gate where Maharajas of Jaipur have entered for four hundred years. Our guide will elaborate on the history of this architectural masterpiece with its mirror-studded alcoves, dazzling mosaics and water-cooled swings that delight today’s visitors as they did their former royal residents.

Rest of the day at leisure or free for shopping.

Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 10 - Jaipur - ranthambore

Drive to Ranthambhore after breakfast.

Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, at the junction of the Aravallis and the Vindhyas, is a unique example of natural and historical richness, standing out conspicuously in the vast, arid and denuded tract of eastern Rajasthan, barely 14 kilometers from Sawai Madhopur. Get in tune with nature for a luxury holiday in the heart of the jungle. It has come to be known as “The land of the Tiger”, where most of the documented footage of this majestic beast has been recorded.

Day 11 Rranthambore

Breakfast will be at hotel. Enjoy two private jungle safaris at Ranthambhore.

Overnight will be at Ranthambhore.

Day 12 Rranthambore - Agra

After Breakfast Drive to Agra visiting Fatehpur Sikri en-route.

The deserted, red Sandstone City, Emperor Akbar built that as his capital and palace in the late 16th century is an exhilarating experience. It a veritable fairytale city and its “ruins” are in pristine condition. It’s not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world.

Continue your drive to Agra and on arrival check-in at Hotel.

visit Agra Fort – the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. This was the seat of Mughal rule and administration and the present structure owes its origins to Akbar who erected the wall s and gates and the first buildings on the eastern banks of Yamuna River. Shah Jehan added the impressive quarters and the mosque while Aurangzeb added the outer ramparts. Visit its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions.

Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb, the monument that is most important in Agra is the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah or “Baby Taj” as it is called sometimes. A highly ornate edifice, this mausoleum is considered as the imminent precursor of the Taj Mahal as far as elaborate carvings and inlay work are concerned. Though the structure does not have much to offer architecturally, it makes a clear departure from the earlier Mughal tombs built during the period and is more softer and with a lot of inlay carvings.

Day 13 Agra - Delhi

Morning witness the magic of the ultimate symbol of Mughal achievement, The Taj Mahal at Surise. Taj Mahal, a dream etched in milky white pristine marble is the peerless monument portraying the beauty of eternal love! A commemoration of the memory of Shahjahan’s beloved wife, Mumtaz. Taj Mahal is indeed India’s rich ribute to womanhood. Renowned for its aesthetic beauty, this extravagant building of timeless beauty is the outcome of a unique combination of passion and architectural exuberance.Overnight in Agra.

Start for Delhi by lunch and reach by early evening. Overnight will be in Delhi.

Day 14 - Agra to Delhi Airport.
Early breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the Delhi Airport.
